Need a Pressbooks Account?

All faculty and staff at BC3 are welcome to request a free Pressbooks account.

  • You must use your BC3 email for your Pressbooks account
  • You will need to create a title for a sandbox book from which you can browse others’ texts and create your own.

Create a Book

The BC3 Pressbooks authoring platform allows faculty and staff to create and publish OER in standard formats. Here is a sample Pressbook. See the Pressbooks Directory for more examples.

There are a variety of guides to help you create OER, including

BC3 OER Faculty Grants

BC3 is now accepting applications for a second round of grants for faculty to adapt, adopt or create open educational resources for a BC3 course. This opportunity has been made available through the College’s CARES grant funding.

There are two types of OER Faculty Grants being offered:

  1. BC3 Faculty Adoption/Adaption Grant – $500 award – adopt/adapt previously published OER into a BC3 course.
  2. BC3 Faculty OER Development Grant – $2,000 award – author original content for an OER course using the Pressbooks platform.

All BC3 full-time and part-time faculty are encouraged to apply!

  • Grant applications will be accepted through April 15, 2021.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the BC3 OER Task Force and awards announced by May 7, 2021.
